Get out your dancing shoes! The Lowlander Highlanders add a spirited touch to any festival, picnic, wedding, celebration or party with music from the northern Appalachians.  Specializing in Celtic and Old Time Americana, Beverley Conrad and Luke Glick perform on fiddle and drums and then some!

In a festival or school setting Bev and Luke demonstrate old time rhythms on handmade, homemade log drums, bodrhans, spoons and bones and fiddles of various designs.  Ever play a cornstalk fiddle?  How about a genuine cigar box fiddle?  Tin fiddle?  It's all there for young folks and older folks to dance to and try a hand at.  To get you into the swing of things Bev will teach you a bit about flat foot clogging, same as the oldtimers of central Pennsylvania do when the music just hits a beat that must be danced to.
Luke gives a lesson on how to play the spoons              Trying out a cigar box fiddle

Beverley Conrad has been playing the fiddle since she was six years old, has hundreds of old tunes at her fingertips and has performed at many festivals and events throughout central Pennsylvania.  Luke Glick is a woodworker among other things and it is said that he can hammer a nail faster than just about anyone.  That ability was transferred to drumming one day when someone gave him a bodrhan.  He also plays jawharp, bones and the spoons and teaches the technique of these as well.

The Lowlander Highlanders have performed at The Joseph Priestly House (PA  Museum Commission), The Danville Ironfest, New Berlin Heritage Days, Lykens Valley Fall Festival, Warrior Run Heritage Days, Penns Colony, Clover Irish Weekend, Pennsylvania Maple Festival, Punxsutawney Groundhog Day, Eckley Miners Village (PA Museum), Kutztown Folk Festival, Mifflinburg Buggy Days as strolling musicians, stage performers and hosting our Making Music Tent.
